To educate youth, families, and citizens on the dangers of drugs with a focus on methamphetamine and develop a county mindset of zero tolerance for chemical use.
MEADA consists of a board who awards grants or funding for projects or programs that encompass a proactive, educational drug awareness effort.
The program eligibility consists of a proactive approach to drug awareness education and addresses a need in the school or community.
In 2016 MEADA served over 12,335 community members and youth through grants totaling $6,400.
2017 = 1st quarter approved grants:
-Central MN Mental Health Clinic- Prevention 4 Teens
-Buffalo high school CD support
-Delano - COMPASS program
-Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted safe prom awareness
-Maple Lake safe prom awareness
2016 = 4th quarter approved grants:
-Annandale High School for goggles
-Annandale Elementary for Kindness Retreat
-Buffalo Middle School drug prevention week
-Phoenix Learning Center for chemical free support group
