By removing unwanted, unused, and/or expired medication from your home, you decrease the likelihood of it getting into the wrong hands and causing accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse.

Do not flush medication, as it can cause pollution, harm aquatic species, and contaminate food and water supply.

When disposing of your medication:

  • Do not include syringes or needles
  • Keep in the original container
  • Black out all personal information on label
  • Seal in a plastic bag
  • Drop into the bin at your local disposal site
