WHAT ARE COMPLIANCE CHECKS?
Compliance checks, under supervision, use underage youth to attempt to illegally purchase alcohol or tobacco from retail merchants. As the local licensing agency, cities and counties are responsible for ensuring that retailers comply with state and local control laws. In Minnesota, you must be 21 years of age to purchase both alcohol, tobacco or vaping related products. The same law will apply for cannabis in the near future as well.
Wright County has over 170 establishments licensed to sell either alcohol, tobacco or vaping related products.
