PROPER DISPOSAL STARTS WITH YOU!

By removing unwanted, unused, and/or expired medication from your home, you decrease the likelihood of it getting into the wrong hands and causing accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse. Drug Take Back Day usually happen twice per year, April and October, but you can dispose of medication anytime at participating facilities.

Do not flush medication, as it can cause pollution, harm aquatic species, and contaminate food and water supply.

When disposing of your medication:

  • Do not include syringes or needles
  • Keep in the original container
  • Black out all personal information on label
  • Seal in a plastic bag
  • Drop into the bin at your local disposal site

In the last three years, we have collected over 770 pounds of unwanted medication.

In partnership with the Wright County Sheriff’s Department and local banks, we collect unused, expired, and unneeded medications each National Drug Takeback Day.

The next Take Back Day is on April 27th at Coborn’s in Albertville and Citizens State Bank in Montrose from 10 am to 2 pm. Bring your unused, unwanted, and expired medications to either site and we’ll safely dispose of them.
